I talked for over 15 minutes about ALL the reasons why water is so freaking important for your health, but to keep it short and to-the-point, I restricted this video to just why water is important to WEIGHT LOSS. Hope that makes sense! I could have said a lot more.

These aren’t really relevant as none cover what I queried or my precise point.. so lets leave it. No point in debating if you are answering a question I didn’t ask! Best wishes, Em x

So THAT’S why I feel “hungry” after I eat. I’m thirsty. Thank you this helps a lot! I’ll drink something instead of eating something when I feel these pains after eating a good sized meal.
I was actually not aware of “thirst” pains haha.

P.S. I don’t mean to be disagreeable, but this is a very debatable and important topic. I’d really appreciate some references and links to books / sites where you obtained this theory and information from so I can look into it and make a balance and informed decision.
Keep up the good work!

Water is important …
Water is important and consumption ISN’T based on body mass but on what our organs need-it varies per individual. Too much is unsafe: I would have to drink 3.5 litres using this theory and after speaking with my GP, he advises against this, suggesting I may get water intoxification, however slowly I drink. This rule is a myth… surely we’re primitively wired to drink when thirsty? I admittedly drink too much diet coke and have learnt something from this but we must use common sense.

I drink 100-120 oz …
It’s not *that* hard, I find. It used to be, but now without it I feel sluggish and dry.
I drink 100-120 oz a day
123 is almost a gallon. A gallon of water a day
There are a lot of us on here who drink 1 gallon/day and we all love it!
The other formula is to drink 8 8-oz glasses/day and then drink another eight ounces for every 25 pounds of excess weight you carry. So for you I am guessing that would be ~100 oz/day – stll pretty close to 123.
Does that make sense?
August 18th, 2009 - 5:36 am
I love what you say …
I love what you say but that means I should be drinking 123oz a day. Thats 3.6litres, there is no way I could drink that a day. Surely if you are a heavier weight the calcuation changes? otherwise some bigger people will be drinking up to 5 litres a day which is insane! and surely not healthy

If you want to read …
If you want to read some peer reviewed scientific papers about the subject then look into the paper published by Dr Dan Negoianu and Dr Stanley Goldfarb from the University of Pennsylvania. It was published in the June 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology and dispels some of the myths regarding water. This is a review piece so discusses several clinical studies.
